Yes she is. I broached the subject with her last night., and she seems agreeable. It's a 21+ (with no stops lol) drive, but doable. She deserves a retirement trip....

May have to increase our battery capacity, however, to handle a week's stay without shore power.
 
The one real problem with Leadville is the elevation, we will be at 10,000 feet, which can be a real problem for some people. For that reason I am open to finding another place that is lower. The problem is that we will need a large open meadow that will hold as many people as we might have. Those are hard to find in the forest. If anybody has suggestions I would like to hear them. Here are the requirements:<br><br><ul><li>Free, no charge camping.</li><li>Large meadow that will hold 20-70 people</li><li>Internet, cell phone and supplies reasonably nearby.</li><li>Lower elevation.</li></ul>Bob<br>
 
I can access Topo maps of the area, but have no personal knowledge of the area, other than having passed through. if that can be of any help.
 
Being from the NW Cascades, I so long for the mountains, the clear streams and lakes to soak my hot and tired feet... The cool mountain air and the crisp nights where Hot Cocoa is the drink of the eve...<br><br>I can barley wait for this to come about... <br>

Those were the good old days. There is a movie called "rubber tramps" by Ken Keesey. I believe it is a reference to that. Great movie, btw!

I've been called a lot worse too but learned to never take it personally.&nbsp; <img src="/images/boards/smilies/smile.gif" align="absmiddle" border="0">&nbsp; You learn these things growing up with all men and working side by side with them.&nbsp; Not complaining, it was the best job, and the best time, I ever had as a stage tech.<br><br>"Dancin' in the moonlight...."&nbsp; Oh wait, you said 'moonless.'&nbsp; Oh well....<br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br>
 
You are right Katie, it does come from that movie. But it also comes from the movie "Into the Wild" where McCandless is adopted by a Rubber Tramp couple and taken to the Slabs. <br><br>Speaking of dancing under the moon, at both of the RTRs in Quartzsite, we had a women's only meeting that the ladies spoke of very highly. Us "gentlemen" strongly suggested they have a gathering under the moon and do some dancing. But they just ignored us.&nbsp; Katie, I desperately need you to come this winter and organize that for me!! I promise we won't peek (he says with crossed fingers)! Bob<br><br>
 
Oh, poor boys! No such luck. I shall be with the ladies this year, more than likely guarding the perimeter.&nbsp;<div><br></div><div>Us girls have to stick together. Nobody else understands the trials and tribulations of a girl peeing in the desert. Every time I stake out a yucca bush behind which I can have a little privacy, one of the boys jockeys for a better angle with the sun and his solar panel. Thank heavens for Macabi skirts and p-styles :)</div>
